Welcome!

I'm so excited to bring more mah jongg to folks in the Asheville area. Because who doesn't want more mah jongg?!

I've been playing NMJL (National Mah Jongg League) style for the past fifteen years and have had the pleasure to teach dozens and dozens of people the game I love.

Mountain Mahj AVL is launching with game play at a very cool venue, French Broad River Brewery. I'm proud to support them after Hurricane Helene, and now you can too!

About me: I grew up in Southern California and then spent 30 years in Chicago. My husband and I moved to Asheville six years ago and have loved every minute of it (well, maybe not the pandemic or Hurricane Helene times!)
